Applications
We are distributors for Blue Eye
Video and Quividi - each are specialist developers of smart sensor
technology.
Blue Eye Video have created a suite of applications based
around a core algorithm. The applications have three key
abilities: counting, queue measurement and tracking.
Quividi provide
applications that identify gender and measure attention time.
Their technology may also be used to develop applications for
non-contact interaction with displays and other devices.
Data
collected by sensors may
populate a database for more
sophisticated queries on that data. For example, it is possible to
examine historical data to discern trends of behaviour over
time. Data may be presented in tabular or graphic form, exported for use
in Excel or business information systems.
By really understanding customer behaviour or traffic flow, organisations
can make architectural or procedural changes to improve
performance and reap the resultant rewards.

Counting |
|
|
Very accurate, bi-directional counting is the
key to understanding customer, visitor or
passenger volumes. Comparison of volume against
performance provides information that is
otherwise difficult and costly to obtain. Data
can be collected in real-time or fed into a
database so that historical information can be
built up to evaluate trends and patterns in
behaviour over a period.
Use of
sophisticated detection and tracking algorithms
ensures that counting results are very reliable,
with over 98% accuracy. The system can cope
with challenging situations such as when a
person may dwell at the threshold of a room
before deciding to exit.

Queue Measurement |
|
Specific regions of interest may be defined so
that a queue may be observed. The multi-target
tracking capability allows the detection of
specific numbers of people in a gathering.
Thus, an alarm can be triggered when a defined
number of people are in the queue. Even if the
queue is unorderly and seems to be just a
gathering, accurate numbers can be determined
and appropriate actions taken. Flow rate and
predicted wait time can be derived from the system.
In airports, there are often considerable
delays. Passenger anxiety is reduced when they
are provided with information about queue length
and waiting times. Real-time data can be
presented to passengers to assist in queue
choice and routing. Stored data may be
analysed to discover peak times and aid seasonal
resource planning. Service Level Agreement
compliance can be monitored.

Tracking |
|
|
It is possible to accurately monitor customer
tracks through an area and analyse their
progress over time. Thus an operator may
determine dwell time, route, speed and other
relevant metrics. Data can be used to analyse
behaviour in order to optimise building design
and layout, improve retail performance, identify
suspicious behaviour and other activities.
A store plan can be broken down by category, and
hotspots defined in each category. The
system may report on the ‘attractivity’ of each
category and hotspot and can produce contour
maps that allow planners to easily visualise
behaviour in the store.
Individual objects may be tracked over a wide
area using a matrix of multiple sensors. By
populating a database with tracking data,
historical information may be viewed and
analysed.

Gender Identification and Attention Measurement |
|
|
Sensors can detect and track human faces then
identify the gender of those faces.
Demographic
information (gender and age) and attention time is extremely
useful in gauging the effectiveness of digital
signage, shop window displays and in-store
promotions. The product provides a
powerful audience measurement tool. Data
is collected and presented as dashboards and may
be integrated with other business information
systems.
Content displayed on digital signage may be
influenced by the audience's predominant gender,
thus advertising can be more targeted and reach
a specific audience more effectively.
Placing discreet sensors in a store window
display allows planners to observe the relative
attractiveness of the items in that display.
Viewer attention time and gender information
assist in brand awareness and display
performance studies.
As with all our products, no personal
information or images are stored in the system,
so all data is completely anonymous. |
